Indians take care of Henderson State JV, 3-0

SENATOBIA, Miss. – The Indians bounced back after a hard-fought loss to pick up a 3-0 win over Henderson State's junior varsity team at Northwest on Friday.

The Indians raced out to a 14-8 advantage to force the Reddies to take a timeout in the opening set. Henderson answered with a 4-1 run out of the timeout, but ICC answered with a 7-0 run to take a 21-12 lead. An ace by Audrey Hamill gave the Indians a 25-17 win in the first set.

The two squads battled to a 16-16 match before the Indians went on a 4-1 run to force the Reddies to take a timeout in the second set. Henderson answered again out of the time out to make it a 20-19 contest. The Indian finished things off with a 5-1 run with a Kathryn Cooke ace gave the Indians the 25-20 win.

Cooke had three aces in the win.

Henderson State trailed by eight early in the third set, but rallied to make it a 19-13 contest. The Indians went on a 6-2 run to end the night early with a 25-15 win in the third and final set.

Sarah Allyn Thornell led the Indians with 14 kills. Thornell, Lydia Hitchcock and Kailynn Johnson each had four assists and four digs in the match.
