FULTON, Miss. – Sarah Allyn Thornell recorded her 41st ace of the season to break the program's single-season record as the Indians picked up a 3-0 win over MUW's JV team on Sophomore Night.

Thornell currently holds the single-season records in aces (43) and assists (720). She holds the career mark in assists (1,044) and is 10 aces away from breaking the career record currently held by Mary Leslie Cranford with 401.

MUW grabbed its first lead of the night at 5-4 and eventually forced timeout when they pulled ahead 9-5 in the third set. The Indians fought back to make it a two-point deficit throughout the match before pulling even at 21 each.

Tied 22-22 in the third set, the Indians got a kill from Thornell followed by a block from Vakeria Jett and the match-clinching kill from Kate Nakagawa to pick up the 3-0 win.
