Indians defeat Champions Christian for third straight win

Hot Springs, Ark. – A 3-0 sweep of Champions Christian College gave Itawamba Community College volleyball its third win in a row.

The sweep wasn't an easy one as the Indians (14-8), won the sets, 25-21, 25-20 and 25-23.

In the tight battle, the Indians defense helped lead the charge with 66 digs, highlight by a season-high 21 dig performance from Lydia Hitchcock (Boaz, Ala.) and 11 from Sarah Allyn Thornell (Atoka, Tenn.).

Thornell led the Indians with 19 assists and nine kills in the road win.

The Indians return to the Davis Event Center Tuesday for a Sophomore Night game against Mississippi University for Women. Sophomore recognition will begin at 5:15 p.m. and the game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
