Indians fall to Wallace State

Hanceville, Ala. – Itawamba Community College volleyball faced the host team of the Wallace State Fall Bash Saturday and fell, 3-1.

The Indians (11-7) won the first set 25-19, but Wallace State answered with a 25-16 win in the second set to tie the match. Wallace State won the third set, 25-11, and the fourth set, 25-15, to pick up the win.

Kailynn Johnson (Olive Branch) had a team-high 12 kills and 12 digs.

Audrey Hamill (Pontotoc) lead the team with 16 assists, followed by Sarah Allyn Thornell (Atoka, Tenn.) with 12.

Lydia Hitchcock (Boaz, Ala.) added 11 digs.

The Indians return to Fulton Tuesday for a big regional match against Pearl River at 5 p.m. In their first two meetings, the Indians won 3-0 in Fulton, but the Wildcats picked up a 3-2 win in Columbus at the MUW Invitational.
