Indians battle with Spartanburg Methodist

Hanceville, Ala. – With an early start in the final day of the Wallace State Fall Bash, Itawamba Community College volleyball went head-to-head with Spartanburg Methodist, but dropped a 3-1 decision.

The Indians (11-6) split the first two sets with Spartanburg Methodist, losing the first 25-11 and rebounded to win the second 26-24. Spartanburg Methodist would take the next two sets, 25-13 and 25-16, to pick up the 3-1 win.

Kailynn Johnson (Olive Branch) had a team-high 10 kills, paired with Sarah Allyn Thornell (Atoka, Tenn.) picking up 17 assists, and Audrey Hamill (Pontotoc) adding 11 assists.

Defensively, the Indians had 64 digs led by Lydia Hitchcock (Boaz, Ala.), Johnson and Thornell all with 13 digs each.
