Columbus, Miss. – To wrap up the MUW Owl Invitational, the Itawamba Community College volleyball team swept the Mississippi University for Women JV squad, 3-0.
The Indians (9-1) made quick work of the Owls winning the sets, 25-12, 25-15 and 25-11.
Sarah Allyn Thornell (Atoka, Tenn.) led the team with 19 kills, 14 assists and four service aces.
The Indians converted 42 of their 80 kill attempts to pick up the win.
Next up for the Indians is a big road test as they travel to Pensacola, Fla. to face No. 15 Gulf Coast State and Pensacola Christian, who is receiving votes in the national rankings, on Tuesday.
The Indians will takes on No. 15 Gulf Coast State at 2 p.m. and then face Pensacola State in a quick turnaround at 4 p.m.
