Indians rally to defeat Southeastern Illinois

Harrisburg, Ill. – The Indians shutout Southeastern Illinois Saturday afternoon and turned around to defeat the Falcons 3-1 Sunday morning.

The Indians (3-0) dropped the first set 25-22, but dominated the second and third sets, winning 25-12 and 25-17.

In the fourth set, the Indians and Falcons battled but the Tribe was able to pick up the 25-21 win to seal the 3-1 victory.

The Indians defense once again stepped up with 65 digs led by Sarah Allyn Thornell (Atoka, Tenn.) with 12 digs. Lydia Hitchcock (Boaz, Ala.), Audrey Hamill (Pontotoc), Kailynn Johnson (Olive Branch) and Brooklyn Ward (Columbus) all added 10 digs each in the win.

Thornell also led the Indians with 11 assists, while Jakailyn Brown and Johnson led the team with 7 kills each.

The Indians have a quick turnaround facing, Wabash Valley after a short break.
