Indians defeat Southeastern Illinois in straight sets

Harrisburg, Ill. – After defeating Frontier, the Indians had a quick turnaround to face host Southeastern Illinois. The lack of a break didn't slow down the Indians as they defeated the Falcons in straight sets, 3-0.

The Indians (2-0) won the first set 25-17 and the second 25-16. With the 2-0 lead, the third set was a battle and the Indians trailed 22-21, but a 4-0 run closed the door the Falcons.

The win was a full team effort with 10 players recording at least one kill and 15 having at least one dig.

Olivia Hines (Olive Branch) led the team with 17 digs and Sarah Allyn Thornell (Atoka, Tenn.) had a team-high 13 assists and seven kills.

The Indians will face the Falcons and Wabash Valley Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
