Indians fall to No. 19 Pearl River

Fulton, Miss. – In the regular season finale, the Indians dropped a hard-fought match to No. 19 Pearl River, 3-1.

The Indians (17-10) had a slow start dropping the first set 25-12, but took the Wildcats to the limit in the second set before falling 25-23.

In the third set, the Indians picked up a 25-22 win to stay alive and force an additional set. However, the Wildcats were able to pick up the 25-17 fourth set and match win.

Mary Leslie Cranford (Covington, Tenn.) and Sarah Allyn Thornell (Atoka, Tenn.) led the Indians with 12 kills each, while Thornell also led the team with 22 assists.

Angie Gonzalez (Walls) had a team-high 18 digs, followed by Thornell with 12.

The Indians will now turn their attention to postseason play as they will host Northwest, Wednesday night at 6 p.m. In their two regular season matches, the Indians have swept the Rangers winning the first meeting 3-0 and taking the second, 3-1. The playoff match will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/blue.
