Indians defeat Spartanburg Methodist, 3-1

Hanceville, Ala. – The Indians opened day two of the Wallace State Spring Bash with a 3-1 win over Spartanburg Methodist.

The Indians took the first two sets winning the first 25-9 and the second 25-21. Spartanburg Methodist grabbed the third set, 25-21, but the Indians finished the job to pick up the 3-1 victory with a 25-13 fourth set win.

Zakhia Taylor
(Olive Branch) and Mary Leslie Cranford (Covington, Tenn.) led the Indians in kills as Taylor had 12 and Cranford 11.

The Indians had 40 assists in the win led by Morgan Lee (Olive Branch) with 28 and Karli Rae Rushing (Fayette, Ala.) with eight.

Londyn Bakeris (Olive Branch) picked up an impressive and team-leading 21 digs in the win.
