Indians give No. 1 Catawba Valley intense battle

Hanceville, Ala. – The Indians had their biggest test of the season Friday when they faced No. 1 Catawba Valley, and despite falling 3-0, ICC gave the country's top team all they could handle.

Each set was a tight battle, but Catawba Valley was able to win the sets, 25-21, 25-22 and 25-20.

Zakhia Taylor
(Olive Branch) led the Indians with eight kills, followed by Mary Leslie Cranford (Covington, Tenn.) and Lauryn Fitzgerald (Nesbit) with six kills each.

Leading the Indians in assists was Morgan Lee (Olive Branch) with 21.

A trio of Indians picked up double digits in digs with Londyn Bakeris (Olive Branch) lead in the Tribe with 19. Lee followed with 12 and Tori Brooks (Steens) with 11.
