Columbus, Miss. – In a doubleheader with the Mississippi University for Women varsity and junior varsity squads, the Indians picked up a pair of 3-0 wins.
Game 1: Indians 3, (JV) Owls 0
To pick up the 3-0 win over the junior varsity Owls winning the sets, 25-14, 25-14 and 25-15.
Zakhia Taylor (Olive Branch) and Lauryn Fitzgerald (Nesbit) led the offense with Tyalor having a team-high 13 kills and Fitzgerald adding 11.
Londyn Bakeris (Olive Branch) had 14 digs in the contest and Morgan Lee (Olive Branch) picked up 29 assists.
Game 2: Indians 3, (V) Owls 0
Against the varsity Owls, the Indians had a battled but won the sets 25-18, 25-23 and 25-20.
Mary Leslie Cranford (Covington, Tenn.) led the Indians with 10 kills in the game and Lee picked up another 26 assists.
Bakeris and Taylor combined for 23 digs with Bakeris picked up 12 and Taylor 11.
The Indians will host return home to host Bevill State Tuesday at 6 p.m.
