Indians wrap up road trip with 3-0 win over Southern Union State

Brewton, Ala. – The Indians wrapped up their three-day, four game road trip with 3-0 win over Southern Union State (Ala.).

The Indians won the sets, 25-18; 25-23; 25-11 and were led offensively by Zakhia Taylor (Olive Branch) and LaMaya Newsome (Southaven) who combined for 13 kills. Taylor had seven kills in 22 total attempts and Newsome had six kills win 11 attempts.

Morgan Lee (Olive Branch) had 12 assists and Karli Rae Rushing (Fayette, Ala.) added seven assists.

Defensively, Londyn Bakeris (Olive Branch) had a team-high 13 digs with Lauryn Fitzgerald (Nesbit) and Newsome adding six each.

The Indians will compete in the Wallace State Spring Bash next weekend when they take on Catawba Valley and Mineral Area next Friday, and Spartanburg Methodist and the host Wallace State-Hanceville on Saturday.
