No. 22 Lady Indians fall to No. 17 Meridian at regionals

Ellisville, Miss. – No. 22 Itawamba Community College women's tennis' season came to a close in the third place match at the NJCAA Region 23 Championships as they fell, 5-1, to No. 17 Meridian Sunday.

Singles:
No. 1   Ana Julissa De Mata (MCC) def. Martina Coghetto - 7-5, 6-3
No. 2   Isabella Quintero (MCC) def. Jimena Palomo - 6-2, 6-3
No. 3   Cheyenne Hughes vs Macey Hill - INC
No. 4   Kaitlyn Greenwood vs Ruthie Storment - INC
No. 5   Tyler Athas vs Cali Grace Davis - INC
No. 6   Julia Blackledge (MCC) def. Maggie Franks - 5-7, 6-1, 10-4

Doubles:
No. 1   De Mata/Quintero (MCC) def. Coghetto/Palomo - 8-4
No. 2   Athas/Hughes (ICC) def. Davis/Storment - 8-4
No. 3   Hill/Blackledge (MCC) def. Greenwood/Emma Horton - 8-2

The Lady Indians ended the season with a 9-8 record and finished fourth at regionals.
