No. 23 Lady Indians defeat No. 24 East Central

Decatur, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College women's tennis team went on the road and picked up a 5-4 win over No. 24 East Central Thursday.

The Lady Indians (3-5) started the day with a pair of win in doubles and then won three singles matches to pick up the win.

No. 4  Madelyn Angle(ICC) def. Ivey Bruntlett   - 6-2, 6-2
No. 5   Ava Espey(EC) def. Brianna Ball - 7-5, 6-1
No. 6  Aidan Nipp(ICC) def. Anna Elmore - 6-3, 6-2

Doubles:

No. 1   Sordo/Coghetto(ICC) def. Tsaura/Vanegas - 9-7
No. 2  Ostrander/Angle(ICC) def. Gregg/Espey - 8-2
No. 3   Bruntlett/Elmore(EC) def. Ball/Powell - 8-3

The Lady Indians match against Holmes on Friday was postponed, so the next match will be Tuesday when Jones visits Fulton at 2 p.m.
