Lady Indians fall to No. 22 Wallace-Hanceville, 9-0

HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Lady Indians dropped a non-conference 9-0 decision to No. 22 Wallace State Community College in Hanceville on Tuesday.

Caroline Ferguson (Tupelo) dropped a tough 10-8 third set to Tempie Ennis in No. 4 singles play. Ferguson won the first set 6-4 before Ennis forced the extra set with a 6-0 win.

Kelsi Wilson defeated Lizbeth Jiminez (Pontotoc) 6-1, 6-2 in No. 1 singles. Bailey Gillentine (Mooreville) dropped a 7-6, 6-4 No. 2 singles decision to Emily Graves. Madison Mayhall (Corinth) fell to Mary Wolfe 6-3, 6-0 in No. 3 singles action.

Claire Ferguson's (Mantee) rally to force an extra frame with Molly Whitlock came up short 7-5 in the second set. She dropped the first set of the No. 5 singles match-up 6-1. Georgia Claire Campbell (Pontotoc) lost 6-1, 6-0 to Emily Wilson in No. 6 singles.

The No. 1 doubles duo of Campbell and Gillentine dropped a hard-fought 8-6 decision to Wilson and Ennis.

Caroline Ferguson and Mayhall fell 8-3 to Graves and Wolfe in No. 2 doubles with Jiminez and Claire Ferguson lost to Martha Lucas and Whitlock 8-2 in No. 3 doubles play.

ICC will step back inside conference play and host Jones County on Thursday.
