Lady Indians fall to Lady Warriors 7-2

DECATUR, MS – The Itawamba Community College women's tennis program hit the road for only the second time this season and played hard against East Central Community College 7-2 Friday.
The Lady Indians (1-6) got off to a good start as Jordan Roberts (Shannon) and Bailey Gillentine (Mooreville) won No. 1 doubles in dominated fashion 8-1. However, the Lady Warriors won No.2, 8-0 and No. 3 8-3.
As the day moved to singles play, Roberts defeated Tatiana Quinonez 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 1 slot.
The Lady Indians fought hard, but were unable to pick up another win as the Lady Warriors grabbed the 7-2 win.
After taking time off for spring break, the Lady Indians will return to action Monday, March 20 at Northwest Mississippi Community College.
