Lady Indians finish in ITA Top 20

FULTON, MS – The ICC women's tennis team earned a No. 18 ranking in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings.
The Lady Indians (9-0) advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Tennis Tournament in Tucson, Arizona after winning the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) championship and a share of the NJCAA Region 23 title.
Sophomore Taylor Patterson (Munford, TN) finished her career tabbed as the 50th best player in the nation while she and sophomore partner Aliesha Hudson (Yazoo) teamed up as the No. 38 doubles team in the country.
Patterson is the 14th Lady Indian to earn a Top 50 national final ranking in singles while teaming up to become the 12th duo to finish the season ranked in the nation's Top 50 in doubles since 2000.
The Top 20 ranking marks the fourth-straight season the Lady Indians has earned a spot amongst the nation's best in the final standings. The Lady Indians earned their highest finish in 2007 when they were ranked 9th in the season's final poll.
The ITA is a non-profit service organization which serves as the governing body of collegiate tennis in the United States.
