Lady Indians battles past Hinds to move to 2-0

RAYMOND, MS - The Lady Indians held off a late surge in singles play to move to 2-0 on the season with a 5-4 win over Hinds Community College on Saturday.
No. 1 Kristen Eley (Mumford, TN) and Taylor Patterson (Olive Branch) defeated Brittany Decamp and Cayla Fox 8-0 before Anna Claire Griffin (Iuka) and Amber Frederick (Shannon) picked up an 8-2 win over Reagan Chisolm and Jenneast Lofton in No. 2 doubles play.
No. 3 doubles proved to be the turning point for the Lady Indians as Aliesha Hudson (Yazoo) and Angela Hudson (Yazoo) fought their way to an 8-6 victory over Jessica Parker and Kelly Carlson to give ICC a crucial 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
In singles play, No. 1 Eley took care of Decamp 6-0; 6-3 and No. 2 Patterson defeated Carlson 6-0; 6-0 before Hinds swept through the next four matches.
Lofton defeated Griffin 6-4; 6-1 in No. 3 play, No. 4 Fox beat Sabrina Holloway (Mantachie) 6-3; 6-1, No. 5 Parker knocked off Angela Hudson 6-0; 6-1 and Chisolm completed the run with a 6-4; 6-7; 7-4 win over Aliesha Hudson in No. 6 singles play.
