PERKINSTON - A slow start from the 16th-ranked women's soccer team was too much to overcome when they dropped a 3-2 decision Tuesday at Gulf Coast.

After Gulf Coast scored the first two goals of the contest, the Lady Indians didn't have a shot go in until there was 29:25 left in the game when Beth Lloyd (Failsworth, England) struck one in off an assist from Adelin Mathis (Mooreville). But the Lady Bulldogs turned around and stretched their lead 3-1 a few minutes later.

With 15:31 remaining, Melanie Huber (Rickenbach Sultz, Switzerland) hit ICC's second goal of the contest off an assist from Addison Pletzke (Clinton). But after that, the Lady Indians couldn't find an equalizer down the stretch and suffered the loss on the road.

The No. 16 Lady Indians are now 12-4 overall and 4-4 in conference play. ICC will be back in action Friday, October 20, when they travel to Summit to take on Southwest at 5 p.m.
