No. 18 Lady Indians take care of No. 13 Co-Lin, 5-1

FULTON - In their first game in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DII Top 20 rankings, the No. 18 Lady Indians showed why they belonged there with a dominant 5-1 win over No. 13 Co-Lin.

Lauren Sharples (Liverpool, England) had a masterclass performance against the Lady Wolves, scoring three goals and recording two assists. 

Sharples set the tone at the midpoint of the first half when she scored the first two goals of the game a few minutes apart from each other. Juliana Motes (Fulton) followed suit and added the Lady Indians' third goal of the half.

After the halftime break, Co-Lin got their first goal of the game, but not even a minute later, Addison Pletzke (Clinton) scored quickly to extend ICC's lead back to three. Then with 10 minutes left to play, Sharples put in the third goal of her great performance to mark the game's final score, 5-1.

Asia Robinson (Horn Lake) recorded five saves and one goal allowed in the victory.

After the match, the No. 18 Lady Indians improved to 11-3 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
