COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Lady Indians (1-2) used a strong second half to pick up a 4-0 win over Southwest Tennessee (0-1) on a rain Monday afternoon.
Momentum would quickly swing the way of the Lady Indians when Izzy Boyd (Tupelo) found the back of the net from distance early to start the second half. Madison Copeland (Tupelo) would give the Lady Indians a 2-0 advantage after scoring off a deflection.
ICC would put the match out of reach when Brianna Huckaby (Saltillo) would score the first of her two goals off an assist from Copeland midway through the second half. Jewel Johns (Mooreville) found Huckaby in the final minutes of the match to help the Lady Indians pick up the shutout victory.
Anna Kate Trost (Oxford) went 60 minutes in net and Katie Hammock (Tupelo) finished out the final 30 minutes of the match as keeper. The Indians' defense kept Southwest Tennessee from taking any shot attempts throughout the match.
The Lady Indians will hit the road to face Gordon State College on Saturday and Daytona State College on Monday in Pensacola.
