Four Lady Indians selected as MACJC All-Stars

Fulton, Miss. – Four Lady Indians will compete on the North Division teams at the Mississippi Assocaition of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-Star game Saturday.

Representing the Lady Indians in the women's game will be Luz Elena Acosta (Tupelo), Halle Moore (Oxford), Ally Shinall (Oxford) and Maisy Sumner (Blackburn, England).

Acosta, a defender, played in all 22 games this season while starting 14, and fellow defender Sumner also played in all 22 games, started 19 and picked up one goal.

Shinall scored four goals, including two game winners, and had six assists while starting 19 of the 22 games as a midfielder. Moore, a defender, scored three goals, two game winners and had three assists and played in all 22 games and started 17.

The four sophomores helped lead the Lady Indians have a historic season winning a program-high 17 games, earning a share of the North Division championship and advance to the conference championship game.

Game time is schedule for noon at Holmes Community College's Ridgeland Campus.
