Lady Indians defeat Pearl River to extend win streak

Fulton, Miss. – The Lady Indians extended their current win streak to seven with a 1-0 victory over a previously unbeaten Pearl River squad. 

Grace Joyce (Oxford) scored the game's only goal off an assist from Brittany Mathis (Pontotoc) at the 26th minute, and Anna Wesleigh Driskell (Tupelo) grabbed nine saves to preserve the shutout.

The Lady Indians (8-3, 3-1 MACJC North) have shutout three consecutive opponents and haven't allowed a goal since the 44th minute in the 4-3 win over Gulf Coast on Sept. 14.

With one more tune up match before jumping back into division play, the Lady Indians will host Motlow State, who is currently 8-1, Saturday at 1 p.m.
