Lady Indians defeat Hinds 6-0 for first division win

Fulton, Miss. – After dropping a heartbreaker in the division opener Friday, the Lady Indians picked up their first North Division win Tuesday defeating Hinds in dominating fashion 6-0.

The Lady Indians (2-3, 1-1 MACJC North) got an impressive performance from Emily Hayward (Oxford) who had a hat trick. Her first goal in the contest came at the 11th minute off an assist from Brittany Mathis (Pontotoc), and her second followed right after halftime to give the Lady Indians a 2-0 lead.

Freshman Lexi Loden (Saltillo) added to the lead by banking a shot off the cross bar and the keeper's back at the 60th minute and Grace Joyce (Oxford) extended the lead to 4-0 ten minutes later.

At the 84th minute Ashley Stevens (Amory) hit one in off the post and one minute later Hayward netted her hat trick goal as the Lady Indians cruised to a 6-0 win.

The Lady Indians will remain at home for their next division showdown as they host East Central Friday at 2 p.m.
