ICC Women’s Soccer sends five to the next level

ICC Women’s Soccer sends five to the next level

FULTON, Miss. – Five of Itawamba Community College's women's soccer players have signed to continue their careers at the next level, and three are heading to the same university.

Francisca Galleguillos-Pollarolo will head to Miami, Fla. next year to play for Florida Memorial University, and Lexi Pund signed with Mississippi College; and the trio of Grace Fowlie, Merrie Kate Grayson and Brittany Sullivan, Mississippi University for Women.

Galleguillos-Pollarolo  played two seasons under Coach David Strother and was an All-Star as a sophomore. The forward from Santiago Nunoa, Chile scored six goals, had three assists, one game-winner and accumulated 15 points in her time in Fulton.

Pund only spent one season with the Lady Indians, but helped them reach the MACJC playoffs and was named to the All-State team. The Tupelo native spent her time in Fulton as a midfielder and scored one goal while picking up eight assist and 10 points in 11 games. She was also named to the United Soccer Coaches Junior College Women's Scholar All-America Second Team.

Fowlie, who came to ICC from Edinburgh, Scotland played two seasons for the Lady Indians. She helped ICC reach the playoffs in both of her seasons combining for two goals, two assists and six points as a forward.

Grayson, a native of Tupelo, spent her time at ICC in net for the Lady Indians and was named NJCAA and MACJC Keeper of the Week during her freshman season. She had 119 career saves.

Sullivan, a midfielder from Fulton, played in 33 games over her two years at ICC, helping the Lady Indians earn back-to-back playoff appearances and host the program's first-ever playoff game in 2017.
