Lady Indians fall to Pearl River in playoffs, 2-1

FULTON, Miss. – The Lady Indians soccer season came to a close after a 2-1 loss to Pearl River Community College in the quarterfinals of the MACJC Tournament on Thursday.

How it Happened

The Lady Indians (9-5-1) scored when Addison Meadows (Oxford) went top shelf off a corner kick from Halle Moore (Oxford) in the 20th minute.

Pearl River (8-7-1) found the equalizer in the 21st minute by Rena Gordon off an assists from Sarah Havens.

The Lady Wildcats took the lead on a goal by Havens in the 35th minute.

Maisy Sumner (Blackburn, Lancashire)

Sumner's impressive defensive play on the backline helped the Lady Indians stay within one goal throughout the second half of play.

Thank You Sophomores: This year's sophomores will leave as the all-time winningest class with 19 wins over two seasons after setting the record for most wins in a season with 10 victories as freshman and nine this season. They also earned the program's first-ever home playoff match as freshmen.
