FULTON, Miss. – The Lady Indians rebounded from their first loss of the season in a big way with a 5-1 win over Southwest Tennessee behind a strong second half surge on a rainy afternoon in Fulton.
How It Happened
Maddie McGregor (Pontotoc) scored her first goal of the season to give the Lady Indians a 1-0 lead with in the 23rd minute.
Southwest found the equalizer to send the match into a 1-1 tie at the break.
Sarah Whitt (Pontotoc) got things started early in the second half giving the Lady Indians a 2-1 lead off an assist from Lexi Pund (Tupelo).
Whitt picked up her second goal of the match off another assist from Pund to give ICC a 3-1 advantage in the 58th minute.
Grace Joyce (Oxford) pushed the lead out to 4-1 off an assist from Ally Shinall (Oxford) in the 63rd minute.
The Lady Indians finished the day like they started it when McGregor scored her second goal of the day off an assist from Francisca Galleguillos-Pollarolo (Santiago Nunoa, Chile).

The freshman duo from Pontotoc scored four of the Lady Indians' five goals on the afternoon. Whitt is currently tied with Galleguillous-Pollarolo and Brittany Mathis (Pontotoc) for most goals on the season with four.
