Richardson, Dennis sign LOIs to continue soccer careers

FULTON, Miss. – Sophomore defender Miaya Richardson (Columbus) and sophomore midfielder Morgan Dennis (Saltillo) signed to continue their collegiate soccer careers on Monday.

After signing a letter of intent to continue her soccer career at Mississippi Valley State University, Richardson became the first player in the history of the women's soccer program to sign with a Division I program.

The Devilettes finished 7-11-1 last season and entered the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament as the sixth seed before being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Howard University in Prairie View, Texas.

Dennis will continue her career at Mississippi University of Women.

As a freshman, Dennis earned Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State honors after scoring three goals and assisting on two more to total eight points on the season. In her final season in Fulton, she scored three goals and added three assists to earn a spot on the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23 and the MACJC North Division All-Star teams.

Next season will mark the inaugural season for the women's soccer program at MUW. They are a NCAA Division III program.

Richardson and Dennis helped the Lady Indians secure back-to-back MACJC playoff appearances, set the mark for most wins (10) in a single season and host the program's first-ever home playoff match during their sophomore campaign.
