FULTON, MS – After back-to-back overtime games, the Lady Indians didn't need extra time Saturday as they picked up a shutout win, defeating Motlow State 2-0.

The visiting Lady Bucks attacked early in the match, but freshman keeper Haley McGill (Saltillo) kept the ball out of the back of the net to keep the game scoreless.

After a a few saves by McGill, the momentum switched sides and the Lady Indians broke the scoreless tie as Deanna Christie (Liverpool, England) found the back of the net on a great ball by Malarie Scott (Saltillo) that Morgan Dennis (Saltillo) push across to Christie at the 13th minute.

With time winding down in the first half, Allie Barnett (Iuka) battled with a Motlow State player for possession in the box, and Barnett won that battle and drove the ball home to extend the Tribe's lead to 2-0.

Both teams put together a couple scoring chances in the second half, but the Lady Indians were able to hold on to complete the shutout and improve to 7-5 overall this season.

The Lady Indians jump back into MACJC North Division play Tuesday as they travel to Hinds. Their 3-1 division record has the Lady Indians in second place currently.
