Lady Indians beat Northwest in OT, 1-0

FULTON, Miss. – The women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 win in overtime before the men's team got a 5-0 win in the nightcap to sweep Northwest Mississippi Community College on Monday.

The Lady Indians (6-4-0, 3-1-0 MACJC North) earned the 1-0 overtime victory when Malarie Scott (Saltillo) knocked home a penalty kick in the 96th minute.

Keepers Merrie Kate Grayson (Tupelo) and Haley McGill (Saltillo) combined for the shutout. Grayson collected one save after spending the first half in net while McGill had a pair of saves in 50:25 in net.

The win helped secure sole possession of second place in the North for the Lady Indians.
