Grayson named MACJC Women's Keeper of the Week

FULTON, Miss. – Freshman Merrie Kate Grayson was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Women's Keeper of the Week by the league on Tuesday.

Grayson (Tupelo) earned the weekly honor after helping the Lady Indians go 2-0 on the week by collecting 15 saves and only allowing 2 goals on 17 shots.

She allowed one goal and had 12 saves in the Lady Indians' 2-1 division win at East Central Community College in the complete game effort. Grayson allowed one goal and had three saves in the Lady Indians' come-from-behind victory at Motlow State (Tenn.) Community College in only 6:45 in net.

In six matches, Grayson has 27 saves with a pair of shutouts and a save percentage of .771 after allowing 8 goals in a total of 306:45 in net this season.

The Lady Indians have won four-straight matches to improve to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in North Division play.

ICC is scheduled to face Northwest Mississippi Community College Wednesday at 2:00 and 4:00 – weather pending – in a pair of crucial North Division matches in Fulton.
