FULTON, MS – Hope Burton (Caledonia) scored the golden goal in the 106th minute Friday to lift Itawamba Community College 2-1 double overtime win over MS Gulf Coast Community College.

After a scoreless first, the Lady Indians (2-5, 0-4 MACJC North) found the back of the net on a Noa Hardin (Starkville) penalty shot at the 68th minutes, after the Gulf Coast keeper received a yellow card inside the box.

The lead would be short lived in the tight battle, as the Lady Bulldogs found the equalizer six minutes later. At the end of regulation, the teams were knotted at one, sending the game into extra time.

The first overtime yielded several shots, but neither team could beat the keeper to end the match. Midway through the second overtime, the Lady Indians put together a run that resulted in Burton's game winner off an assist from Haley Merrell (Olive Branch), to give them their second consecutive win.
The Lady Indians will host Pearl River Community College Sunday for a non-conference make up match that rained out at the beginning of the season. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
