STONE MOUNTAIN, GA – The Itawamba Community College women's soccer team pick up its first win of the season by shutting out Covenenat College, 7-0.

The Lady Indians (1-5, 0-4 MACJC North) scored early and often in the opening minutes of the match and Hope Burton (Caledonia) found the back of the net first after a set up by Summer Jensen (Pontotoc).

Noa Hardin (Starkville) and Madison Parham (Mooreville) scored quick back-to-back goals early in the first half that gave the Lady Indians a 3-0 lead at the half.

After quite start the second half, the Lady Indians caught fire netting four goals in the final 20 minutes.

Jessica Geraldson (Olive Branch) scored the first goal of the half, and Parham followed with her second of the match to extend the Lady Indians lead to 5-0.

Hannah Anderson (New Albany) added to the lead with a goal off an assist by Burton and Emily Buster (Prattville, AL) tallied the final goal in the closing minutes. Keepers Breauna Holley (Pontotoc) and Kate Hester (Pontotoc) preserved the shutout with big saves in 45minutes of play each.

The Lady Indians will host Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Friday and Pearl River Community College on Sunday. Both non-division matches are scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
