WESSON, MS - The Lady Indians snapped a seven-match losing streak with a 5-0 victory over the Lady Wolves behind a hat trick from Hannah Miller (Vicksburg) and a pair of assists from Miranda Chapman (Saltillo).

"I'm really proud of the girls," said Coach Cody Carson. "It's been a tough year filled with a lot of injuries, but they never stopped working to get better and never threw in the towel on the season when a lot of other teams would've given up a long time ago."

Alyssa Kelley (Saltillo) and Annalee Jaggars (Saltillo) each added a goal while keeper Emily Munn (Pontotoc) recorded the clean sheet in the win.

"Hopefully this will give us the shot of confidence we need to finish the season with a strong push towards making the playoffs," said Carson. "We've got some much-needed depth on our roster and I feel like that's really going to help us the rest of the way out."

The Lady Indians will look to win back-to-back matches for the first time this season when they host Meridian Community College at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

"We had plenty of chances to come away with a win when we played down at their place earlier this season, but the breaks just weren't going our way that day," commented Carson. "Hopefully it'll be a different story come Wednesday."
