FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College women's basketball head coach Robin Porter has been named the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Women's Basketball Coach of the Year, according to an announcement on Tuesday.
In her sixth season at the helm for the Lady Indians, Porter has led her team to a 25-5 overall record with a 12-2 mark in MACCC play, and the program's first NJCAA Region 23 Tournament title since the 2015-16 season. Her squad currently averages 67 points per game, which is fourth in the conference.
Currently on a nine-game winning streak, the Lady Indians will enter the 2025 Credit Union 1 NJCAA Women's DI Basketball Tournament as the No. 21 seed where they will face No. 12 seed Florida Southwestern State College on Wednesday, March 26, at 3:30 p.m. in the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper, Wyoming.
