Lady Indians hang on to win wild one at Calhoun

DECATUR, Ala. – Itawamba Community College's women's basketball program secured their best start in over a decade as they improved to 8-0 after a wild 61-58 road win over Calhoun Thursday night.

The Lady Indians started the game with everything going their way, ending the first quarter with a 23-9 lead and maintaining that momentum into halftime. In the second half, Calhoun found their way back into the game, but ICC held on and secured the three-point victory.

Jestiny Dixon (Foley, Ala.) had a team-high 15 points with Jamyia Bowen (Shannon) following with 13. D'Naylah Williams (Kosciusko) added six; and Allie Beckley (Pontotoc) and Arianna Durrell (Clinton), five each.

The Lady Indians will play again on Saturday, December 2, when they travel to Henderson, Tenn. for a 1 p.m. contest with Freed-Hardeman University's junior varsity team.
