Fulton, Miss. – Itawamba Community College women's basketball fell to Holmes Community College, 72-61, in the final home game of the regular season Tuesday night.
The Lady Indians (12-10, 4-9 MACCC) got off to slow start and trailed 25-10 at the end of the first quarter and were down 43-25 at halftime.
At the end of the third quarter, Holmes held a 56-38 lead, but the Lady Indians would pull within 10 points in the final quarter. Despite outscoring Holmes in the third and fourth, the Lady Indians couldn't overcome the early deficit, falling 72-61.
Che'mya Carouthers (Tupelo) and Ayonna Naylor (Clinton) led the Lady Indians with 10 points each.
The Lady Indians will wrap up the regular season Thursday when they travel to Ellisville to face No. 9 Jones College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
