Perkinston, Miss. – It was a tough night for the Itawamba Community College women's basketball program as they fell 73-49 to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Thursday night.
The Lady Indians (9-8, 1-7 MACCC) battled in the first quarter, but trailed the Lady Bulldogs 19-13 heading into the second.
In the second, the Lady Bulldogs scored 23 points and took a 42-24 lead into halftime.
The Lady Indians struggled offensively in the third and trailed by 27, 60-33, heading into the final quarter.
A fourth quarter push allowed the Lady Indians to outscore the Lady Bulldogs in the frame, but the deficit was too big to overcome as they fell, 73-49.
Addison Howell (Olive Branch) led the Lady Indians with 12 points.
The Lady Indians will host Northwest Mississippi Community College Monday night at 5:30 p.m.
