UTICA, Miss. – ICC held off a late rally by Hinds to pick up a 60-54 road win on Monday.
The Lady Indians (9-6, 1-5 MACCC) trailed 15-14 at the end of the first quarter, but got hot late in the second to take a 31-26 advantage into the break. The Lady Bulldogs (2-12, 1-4 MACCC) saw the Lady Indians stay hot to take a 53-38 lead into the final frame. Hinds bounced back to cut the double-digit deficit to six on three different occasions, but ICC held strong down the stretch to pick up their first conference win of the season.
Che'mya Carouthers led the Lady Indians with 17 points. Shayla Golden score 11 points and added nine rebounds in the win.
The Lady Indians will return to action when they host Meridian (15-3, 4-2 MACCC) Monday, Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m. The game will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
