Lady Indian’s struggles continue in loss to Northeast

BOONEVILLE, Miss. – The iron hasn't been kind to the Lady Indians to start 2023 and such was the case in their 69-58 loss at Northeast.

The Lady Indians (8-3, 0-2 MACCC) only managed to connect on 21 of 62 shots (33.9%) from the floor and 1 of 8 (12.5%) on Monday. The Lady Tigers (5-7, 1-1 MACCC) shot 41% on the night, including making 27.3% from beyond the arch.

Trailing 31-27 at the break, the Lady Indians were outscored, 20-15, in the third quarter and traded shots with the Lady Tigers throughout the fourth to allow Northeast to pick up the 69-58 win.

Makayla Rieves (Columbus) led the Lady Indians with 11 points and nine rebounds. Che'mya Carouthers Tupelo) chipped in 10 points in the loss.

ICC will look to rebound when they host unbeaten Pearl River (12-0, 2-0 MACCC) on Thursday. The Lady Wildcats held East Central to 15 points and Hinds to 29 in their first two games of the 2023 half of the season.
