Lady Indians struggle in loss to Delta

FULTON, Miss. – ICC struggled shooting the ball in their 56-53 loss to Mississippi Delta on Thursday.

The Lady Indians (8-2, 0-1 MACCC) trailed by 14 in the first half before taking a four-point lead after back-to-back baskets by Shayla Golden early in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Trojans (7-3, 0-1 MACCC) hit four of six free throws attempts in the final 26 second of the game. A stat that loomed large when Kenijha Flowers knocked down a three-pointer as time expired on the contest.

Golden scored with 13 points and grabbed six rebounds while Che'mya Carouthers added 10 in the loss. ICC shot 33-percent from the floor and connected on 25-percent of its three point attempts.

The Lady Indians will look to rebound Monday night when they travel to Booneville to take on Northeast (4-7, 0-1 MACCC). The Lady Tigers opened conference play with a 63-56 loss at Hinds.
