Lady Indians pick up road win over Calhoun

Decatur, Ala. – Itawamba Community College women's basketball rebounded from their first loss of the season with a 62-58 road win over Calhoun Community College Tuesday night.

The Lady Indians (8-1) controlled the first quarter and held a 22-11 lead, but the Lady Warhawks battle to cut into the lead in the second quarter.

At halftime, the Lady Indians held a 31-26 lead, and a back-and-forth third quarter would cut the lead to two, 47-45.

The fourth quarter was high energy and the Lady Indians were able to hold off every run attempt from Calhoun to hold on and pick up the victory.

Ayonna Naylor (Clinton) led the Lady Indians with 14 points, followed by Shayla Golden (Jacksonville, Ark.) with 12.

The Lady Indians will host Motlow State Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. in the final home game of the fall portion of the schedule.
