Lady Indians hang on to beat Wallace, 71-61

FULTON, Miss. – Freshman Allie Beckley had a breakout game to help the Lady Indians pick up a 71-61 win over Wallace State on Tuesday.

Beckley came off the bench to score a game-high 13 points, collected three rebounds and added an assists to help the Lady Indians to improve to 3-0 on the season.

ICC fell behind 20-17 in the first quarter after Katie Beth Hall knocked down a three-pointer from the corner as time expired. The Lady Indians outscored the Lady Lions 25-14 in the second quarter to take a 42-34 lead at the break.

The Lady Indians were able to expand on their lead by outscoring Wallace State 16-10 in the third quarter to take a 58-44 advantage into the final frame. The Lady Lions made a run to make it an eight-point contest in the fourth quarter, but ICC was able to hang on and hit free throws down the stretch to pick up the 71-61 win.

Shayla Golden added a double-double performance with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Che'mya Carouthers also scored 12 points in the victory.

The Lady Indians will be back in action when they host Calhoun on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The game will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
