Goodman, Miss. - In their final regular season road game, the Lady Indians picked up a 77-51 win over Holmes Monday night.
In was a tight battle for most of the fist half with the Lady Indians lead 19-12 after one quarter, but saw their lead cut to one, 24-23 in the second quarter.
At halftime, the Lady Indians (13-8, 8-5 MACCC) held a three point advantage, 32-29.
The Lady Indians were able to pull away in the third by outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 24-5 to take a 56-34 lead into the final frame.
In the fourth, the Lady Indians only outscored the Lady Bulldogs 21-17, but the big third quarter propelled the Lady Indians to the win.
Che'mya Carouthers (Tupelo) led the Lady Indians with 15 points, followed by Demetria Shephard (Pontotoc) with 14 points, and Ky'Leo Worriels (Gainesville, Ga.) with 12 points.
The Lady Indians will wrap up the regular season Thursday when they host Jones College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and Sophomore Night activities will be help prior to the game.
