Lady Indians fall to Coahoma

Clarksdale, Miss. – Itawamba Community College women's basketball dropped a 72-61 decision on the road Thursday night to Coahoma Community College.

The Lady Indians (5-2) trailed early and were unable to overcome the early deficit. At the end of the fist, Coahoma held a 22-13 lead, but ICC was able to cut the lead to 37-30 by halftime.

A three-pointer at the end of the third gave Coahoma a 55-44 lead and they held on to pick up the win.

Amelya Hatch (Ripley) led the Lady Indians with 15 points followed by Demetria Shephard (Pontotoc) with 11 points. Che'mya Carouthers (Tupelo) added 10 points and Nadia Gillespie (Olive Branch) picked up 10 points off the bench.

After the Thanksgiving break, the Lady Indians will travel to Mississippi Delta Community College Thursday, Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m.
