Lady Indians' rally falls short at East Mississippi

SCOOBA, Miss. – The Lady Indians' rally from a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter came up short in a 56-59 loss at East Mississippi on Thursday.

After fighting their way to a 28-24 halftime lead, the Lady Lions (2-2) took advantage of a cold-shooting third quarter by the Indians to take a 43-32 advantage into the final frame.

The Lady Indians (4-1) cut East Mississippi's double-digit lead to seven with five minutes left in the game. The Lady Lions took care of business from the free throw line to avoid the collapse and hang on for the three-point victory after a lay-up at the buzzer by ICC.

R'Daztiny Harris had 16 points. Demetria Shephard added 12 and Amelya Hatch added 10. ICC was eight of 10 from the free throw line. East Mississippi connected on 15 of 26 attempts from the charity stripe.

Lady Indians will look to rebound from their first loss of the season when they host Northwest on Monday. The First American National Bank opening tip is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Davis Event Center and will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/red
