Lady Indians win big at Holmes

Goodman, Miss. – After a busy three game week, the Lady Indians won their third straight game with an 80-60 road win over Holmes Monday night.

The Lady Indians held a 17-9 lead at the end of the first half and outscored the Lady Bulldogs 21-16 in the second to hold a 38-25 lead at the break.

At the end of the third quarter, the game was still in reach for the Lady Bulldogs to make a comeback with the Lady Indians only leading by 13, 58-45.

In the fourth and final quarter, the Lady Indians pulled away to pick up the 20 point win.

Xhiir Burgess (Oxford) led the Lady Indians with 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Coming off the bench, Nadia Gillespie (Olive Branch) scored 14 points and Amelya Hatch (Ripley) followed with 12 points. Mariah Holland (Oxford) also scored in double figures with 11 points.

Next up for the Lady Indians will be another road game as they travel to Northwest next Monday, March 22 with tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
