Lady Indians drop a heartbreaker at Coahoma

Clarksdale, Miss. – After overcoming a slow start to tie the game in the final seconds, the Lady Indians fell 79-77 to Coahoma Monday night.

The Lady Indians (2-1, 2-1 MACCC North) fell behind 12-0 early in the first quarter but rallied to cut the Lady Tigers' lead to 32-31 at halftime.

In the second half, the Lady Indians would tie the game several times and with 20 seconds left in regulation, Demetria Shephard (Pontotoc) tied the game at 77-77 as she grabbed a rebound and put it back for the score.

Coahoma scored on their next trip down the floor and the Lady Indians last second shot just missed, allowing the Lady Tigers to escape with the 79-77 victory.

Shomaria Overton (Leland) led the Lady Indians with 20 points, followed by Shephard with 12 points and R'Daztiny Harris (Hickory Flat) with 10 points.

The Lady Indians return home Thursday night to take on Holmes with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the event can be claimed at iccms.edu/etickets while supplies last. The game will also be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
