Fulton, Miss. – Itawamba Community College sophomore guard Whitney Watkins has signed to continue her career at Augusta (Ga.) University, an NCAA Division II school.
The Decatur, Ala. native wrapped up her sophomore campaign by averaging 11.2 points per game and helping the Lady Indians advance to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Tournament with an 18-7 record.
She led the Lady Indians with a 39.1 field goal percentage and 35.8 three-point percentage.
Watkins, who also was named to the NJCAA Region 23 All-Tournament Team, will join the Lady Jaguars, who finished 12-7 last season. The Lady Jaguars compete in the Peach Belt Conference.
